The four vineyards of the GIMENEZ MENDEZ family are located in the South of Uruguay, very near to the fresh breeze from the Rio de la Plata (Silver ´s River) above the parallel 35º South, in the centre gravity of the wine growing regions.
Our Mediterranean climate is characterized by a long dry season with warm sunny days that provide very good exposure to sunshine. During the summer period, there is a wide range of temperature differentiation between day and night. In fact during the same day maximum temperature may reach 32 ºC/90 ºF and minimum just 10 ºC / 50 ºF. The risk of rain during the growing season and into the harvest is very low.
